How many kg of baggage is allowed in Saudi airlines?

Saudi Airlines is also known for its efficiency, services, brand recognition, and sustainability. Before boarding, those who want to fly with Saudi Airlines must know the baggage policy. This article will break down the rules and guidelines regarding the Saudi Airlines baggage policy.

Carry-on Baggage policy of Saudi Airlines

Saudi Airlines has different carry-on baggage policies for various classes and routes. However, to get an Idea, here are some of the rules and regulations:

  • For Economy classes: Passengers are permitted to carry one bag and one briefcase, with a maximum weight of 9 kg and dimensions that do not exceed 56 x 45 x 25 cm or 22 x 18 x 10 in and a briefcase with 45 x 20 x 35 cm or 18 x 8 x 14 in.
  • For Business Class: Passengers can carry one bag and one briefcase with a weight limitation of 9kg. The baggage and suitcase dimensions should not exceed the allowed limits of 56 x 45 x 25 cm or 22 x 18 x 10 in and 45 x 20 x 35 cm or 18 x 8 x 14 in.
  • For Guest Class: Passengers who travel in the Guest Class are permitted to carry baggage which must weigh 7kg, and the dimensions should not exceed  56 x 45 x 25 cm or 22 x 18 x 10 in.

Checked bagged policy of Saudi Airlines

Saudi Airlines has a checked baggage policy, and the allowance depends on the class of travel and type of flight. Here, we will be discussing Saudi Airlines' checked baggage policy. 

  • For First and Business Class: Passengers traveling in this class are permitted to carry two pieces of baggage as checked baggage; each piece of baggage should weigh no more than 32 kg and be 158 cm or 62 inches in diameter.
  • For Guest Class: Passengers flying in the Guest class are allowed to carry two pieces of baggage, each weighing no more than 23 kg and having a sum of length, width, and height no more than 158 cm or 62 inches. 
  • Infants: For Infants, 32 kg of free checked baggage is allowed, and the dimensions should not exceed the dimension or the sum of length, width, and height of 158 cm or 62 inches. 

Prohibited Items (Items that are not allowed to carry)

Saudi Airlines has a list of some items and things that are not allowed to be carried, like any other airline, and here is a list of these items.

  • Knives, swords, ammunition, and firearms are strictly prohibited to carry.
  • Flammables, toxic substances, incendiary materials, compressed gasses, and explosives are prohibited as well.
  • Liquid materials, such as toothpaste, gels, perfumes, and liquid cosmetics, are also not allowed to be carried. 
  • Cigarette lighters are prohibited.

Excess Baggage Policy of Saudi Airlines

Passengers can purchase additional baggage for specific destinations through Saudi Airlines's official website and get a discount of up to 30%. You can retrieve an existing booking and purchase additional baggage using your credit card. Exceeding the standard dimensions will cost around USD 100. Starting from 205cm (80 inches) to a maximum extent of 300cm (118 inches) will cost you an extra USD 67.
